Sunday of Orthodoxy
The first Sunday of Lent and the Sunday of Orthodoxy were celebrated at Annunciation on February 21st. We were blessed to have many people participate in the service and were especially happy that many of our catechism children participated in the procession of the holy icons.
Later that same evening, the inter-Orthodox vesper service took place at Saint George Serbian Orthodox Church. Though we had much snow yet again that evening, the sanctuary was warm from the special joy of praying together as Orthodox Christians living in the Greater Kansas City area. Ten priests from eight of the the various Orthodox parishes concelebrated the beautiful vespers service and a delicious lenten meal was enjoyed after the service.
