St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival
Our parish was truly blessed to have over twenty children participate in the Saint John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival after the Divine Liturgy on Sunday February 21st. Children from grade school through 12th grade demonstrated great poise and faithfulness and offered moving and informative sermons on a variety of topics.
Every participant in the event is a winner in that they learned more about their faith and did a superb job presenting their sermons to those in attendance. In the Junior division, Vanessa Kamberis, Nick Katinas, and Evie Hauptmann placed first, second and third respectively. In the Senior division, Anne Elise Dimas, Catherine Katinas and Mikaila Gicinto placed first, second and third. Well done!
A special thank you to the chairpersons of the event, Mariam and Ryan Brunton for another year of outstanding leadership! Thanks are also in order for Jan Kartsonis as the chairperson of the luncheon, Philoptochos and Ahepa for their financial support, Carrie Michale for her assistance with research materials and Stacie Sampson for her leadership and encouragement.
