Starting a ministry team is best done after prayerfully asking yourself the following three questions:

  1. What do I enjoy doing?
  2. What are my own gifts and talents?
  3. Is there a need for what I want to do in the community? Once you’ve answered those questions, take a look at the services the existing  ministry teams are providing to see if any of them are doing what you would like to do. If not, as long as what you would like to do is consistent with the overall mission of the parish, write a brief description/mission statement of your proposed ministry team and arrange to present it at the next community synaxis. Once approved by the parish synaxis and our priests, you are “up and running.”

Just make sure you and your team remain accountable to our parish and to our priests and are represented at all future parish synaxis.
